Using Old Envelopes – With Video
.
.
Hello, Let’s chat about envelopes today.
We are using old envelopes to help us tell our stories.
How often do you just throw away an old envelope?
Sometimes they are far to pretty to bin, especially if you are receiving something from a craft friend : )
But when was the last time you received an ugly old envelope from the DVLA or HRMC and then just checked the envelope?
That’s what we are talking about today.

This is the page we are creating today.
You can watch the video process here and I also share some tips and show how I’ve used old envelopes on other pages.
.
I had a brown envelope from the HRMC and cut out the window leaving a boarder around the outside.
I covered this in washi to make a pretty frame and attached a tab on the side so that it easily lifts.
I added the word ‘fun’ on the cellophane of the frame (that was the window of the envelope).
Now this can lift like this.

And the photo is underneath. I used more washi to the edges here too.
The photo here is stuck to another envelope. It’s actually the mini envelope from the October kit.
I tore a piece of scrap card stock to create a journal card to slip inside this envelope and attached a flair from ‘Dotty About Flair’ to a paperclip so that it pulls out easily.

On the other side my 6×4” photo sits on an old glassine envelope.
I always keep and reuse these too.
