Sometimes things don’t go as planned… 

Hello lollipop friends,

I hope you’re all doing well.

When the new “Pool Party” kit finally arrived I wanted to come up with a quick but fun layout but things didn’t go as planned…

I really wanted to do some mixed media in the background of my layout but it just didn’t look the way I wanted it to. I tried to cover it and add more and covered it again…

In the end I still wasn’t 100% happy with it but I still wanted to share it as I think we all sometimes need a reminder that it’s ok when a project doesn’t work out the way we had planned.

Personally I am very self critical and want everything to look as perfect as possible, especially the projects I show to all of you. But we’re all just human and can’t be perfect all of the time.

Now to the layout…

I wanted to document this particular photo and the kit is perfect for it.

I took my daughter to the seaside last week and we had a fab day. I still don’t know where the seagull on the photo came from, haha! Happy little accident as I think it looks so cool!

I used one of the papers from the kit to matt my photo. I cut up one of the journaling cards and used it for my title.

I embellished my layout using the die cuts and some stickers. I also added a few stamped images from a stamp set I recently purchased.

I hope you this layout inspired maybe an idea or two…even if it’s not perfect.
