Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the mini heat wave we are again having in the UK. I spent some time sat out in the garden playing with the Citrus Twist kit and some mixed media.  This kit really did give me the feeling of summer with its beautiful bold colours.

I started off with a plain piece of mixed media cardstock then used gel medium to glue down pieces of the cloud tissue paper from the kit. Then added with my fingers areas of white acrylic paint.

Once dry I used a paintbrush to add areas of Campbella Watercolours in gold, orange and pink tones matching them with the colours in the kit.

Now the base was created it was time to add a focal area of decoration to the page. I dropped the green thread from the Citrus Twist kit on to the centre of the page then glued it where it landed.

I created a cluster of embellishments by cutting strips from the patterned paper, layering stickers under the kraft tag.

To create the little paperclip embellishment I cut a thin strip of fabric and simply tied it round the top of the paper clip before adding it to the tag.

I finished the page of by adding some black doodles in ink pen and then some dots and crosses using Stabilo Woody pencils in orange and yellow.
