Life is Good Scrapbook Layout by Terri Smith
The inspiration for this layout came from the sketch provided by Lisa in the little kit zine for this month. The heart shape drew me to the white heart doilie in the June ‘One Fine Day’ kit. I wanted to colour it so I painted it all over with metallic bronze watercolour paint from Campbella. Once dry I added splatters of green watercolour paint on top.
I also took inspiration from the fabulous subscriber postcard in this month’s kit where Lisa had painted and drawn leaves with the quote ‘mindset is everything’. So I fussy cut both the leaves and the quote to use as embellishment on my layout. Following on from Lisa’s design and also the designs on the patterned paper, I painted and drew my own foliage on the background. I added little pink ‘berries’ using nuvo drops.
I added layers of patterned paper, kraft envelope and tissue paper underneath the photo to begin a photo cluster. I tucked in a little fussy cut doilie from Chapter VIII. Then adding die cut embellishments on top of the photo.
Despite not having 12×12 papers in the kit I was able to cut strips of paper and adhere them together to create the effect of having longer pieces of paper on the edges. To finish off the layout I added a large Peartree Cutfiles acrylic title from my stash, splatters of black acrylic paint and journalling.
Thanks for joining me on the blog today, we love to see your creations so please share over in the Lollipop Box Club Facebook group.
Happy Crafting!
