Hi there Lollipop friends!
Working in one of my TNs I’ve created a double page spread in celebration of my youngest daughter’s birthday! I admit, I’ve been in vintage mode lately and I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea so here’s something that’s bang up to date with fresh bright colours!
I started by punching some tiny hearts from the scallop border paper in the three colours, blue, pink and red. I arranged these on a piece of the pink/white grid paper and used just a dab of glue to lightly secure them, this allowed me to easily run a line of machine stitching through the centres of the hearts following the grid line.
The little cluster in the bottom right corner was created using one of the tickets, a tag, stickers, a strip from the cut apart sheet and red and white bakers twine from my stash.
I wanted to use one of the airmail envelopes which seemed appropriate as my daughter lives in Australia! I mounted the photo of her, celebratory drink in hand on a piece of pink paper bag and blue paper from the kit that I’d been using to punch out the tiny hearts. I decided to back the heart shapes before machining around the whole thing in gold to match the stitching on the opposite page, I then stuck it to the flap of the envelope.
This meant I could flip it and I’ve used the ‘sending hugs’ card from the kit for some hidden journalling. I’ve also written on the envelope (hidden by the card in the photo). I added a cluster in the top left, numbers from my stash, stickers and used twine to make 3 heart shaped balloons, well that’s what I see them as!!
I finished off with a page tab made using one of the stickers and drew thin black lines around each page before adding some black splatters. It’s always a bit of a ‘heart in mouth’ moment when I start splattering but hey ho, I like to live dangerously!!
I hope you’re having fun using your kits, the whole team love seeing how everyone uses all the different elements.
I’ll be back later this month with a project using the new Say Cheese!kit, until then,
Happy Crafting
Love Philippa x
