Create your own Happiness Journal Page by Terri

Terri here with my second project using the fabulous ‘Here’s the Story’ kit. I created a hessian art journal page in my Dina Wakley journal.

Before I started the page I added some mixed media to the tags and cotton fabric in the kit. I scrunched up the fabric and sprayed it with Distress Oxide and Distress Ink sprays. I then used the leftover spritzed ink on my kraft mat to add colour and texture to the tags.

I added white gesso to the hessian background then layered the coloured fabric and tags on top along with strips of pattened paper and sheet music.

I fussy cut some of the leaves from the patterned paper and added them down the right hand side to look like they were falling. I added black stenciled leaves using the Peartree Cutfiles stencil in the kit and Black Soot Distress Oxide.

The page was finished off with a splattering of black and blue paint using posca paint pens and some gold acrylic ink. I chose the ‘create you own happiness’ from the cut apart sheet to form my title for the page.
