Build My Layout With Me
Follow along with me as I share how my 12 by 12 layout comes together using watercolours along with the Here Comes The Sun kit.
For the base I started off with white card stock from my stash and added watercolour to the page. Using a scraper I pulled the watercolour across the page, blending the different colours together.
I couldn’t stop there though, using the same colours I layered them splatting with my paint brush. I dried each colour before adding the next so that they didn’t mix together.
Using two sheets of the paper I sliced them in half, scored them at 1/2 inch intervals and folded them to create an accordian, then joined the different colours together.
Using my hot glue I created my rosettes, they don’t meet all the way around but im not worried about that as not all of them will show in my finished project.
Taking another sheet of paper from the kit and cut it down to size and started to build my layers. The rosettes add dimension to my layout.
I pulled some diecuts to embellish and add extra details. Once I was happy I glued everything into place.
Next I added my photo, I had to pull the wellies diecut back up as my photo was going to cover them, so I gently peeled it up and then placed at back over the top of my photo.
Using the alphabet stickers I have added the place and date from our trip to Edinburgh.
The Sunshine diecut is perfect for my title
I love the Happy little moments cork flags, they add some more dimension and texture to the layout.
I have really enjoyed creating my page and absolutely love the final layout.
