Peas in a Pod with Emma Kate
.
Hey Lollipop friends,
I’m going back to the traditional 12×12 scrapbook page today, sometimes it’s just nice to have that little bit extra room to create. My inspiration came from the awesome chevron paper in the April ‘Good Vibes’ kit.
.
.
I wanted a mixed media background for my page so I firstly prep my page with gesso, once this was completely dry I used a chevron stencil & modelling paste to echo the pattern paper & to give my layout texture. Next, using a combination of Distress Oxide Sprays & the super shimmery ‘Spearmint Smile’ watercolour sample I added colour to my background using the mixed media to pick up the pattern of the stencil.

.

.
I then fussy cut the chevrons from the patterned paper & arranged them either side of my photo, overlapping them in places & using foam tape to add depth. I also layered my photo with the various papers in the kit along with the tag.
.

.
To finish, I added my title, typed journaling, word stickers & those cute ephemera corners to my photo. Chevrons are a really great shape to use in memory keeping, it allows you to draw the viewers eye & attention to the main subject, it just screams ‘look at me!’
