Hi everyone!

Chloé here today, I hope you’re all well! I’m back after a little break from the creative team; life was a little crazy for a while. I don’t know about you, but I’m struggling with motivation during this third UK lockdown, and unfortunately that’s translating to crafting too. I just feel like I don’t have the inclination to sit and be creative, so today I set myself the challenge of creating a journal page in 15 minutes. It’s been MONTHS since I worked in my creative journal, so I was keen to see what I’d come up with using the new Rise and Shine February kit.

I grabbed some photos, set a 15 minute timer and got creating! I think it turned out really cute. I made decision-making easier by limiting myself to only using the February box, and it was fun to find elements that would work for this page. Rise and Shine is themed around getting your day off to a good start, and these photos were taken on my last morning in Florida last February… definitely a good way to start the day!

 

Often, my creative journals are made up of photos that I have duplicates of, or that don’t make it into my project life albums. As a result, I don’t always have a lot to say about them as they’ve been documented elsewhere. In this case, my default design is to cover one entire page with patterned paper, which you can see in this project. The right side of the page is incredibly simple; I just backed my photo with the cloud paper from the kit, and layered up a few die cuts and tiny phrase stickers.
The left page is slightly more creative, with a brush-lettered title and a pocket made from patterned paper. I simply glued 3 edges of the paper to create a space that the blue tag could sit in… You could adhere more photos to this tag, or use it for hidden journaling. Again, I layered up some die cuts and stickers to embellish the page. I love how it all turned out, and it was lovely to sit down for a few minutes of creative time.
