How is everyone doing? The weather has been beautiful and this ‘Take Me Away’ kit here is just perfect to use with some spring time pictures that I took back in April. I prepped the cardstock with gesso and then used blue water colour paints to create the background. I then added some texture using some bubble wrap and white paint. It’s really cool and super easy – just paint on the bubble wrap and then use it as a stamp. You can either get really clear splotches or fainter ones, depending on how much paint you use. To finish off the background I added some black stitching with my sewing machine and some other paint splats.

I then used the papers and tissue paper from the kit to back the picture, distressing the edges of them all and using foam tape to add some depth to the cluster. There was a metallic frame in the kit and I added this to the cluster. I had a 2×2 version of the picture too so used one of the journaling cards from the kit and another metallic frame that I had in my stash from a previous kit.

The leaf papers that Lisa designed this month are really lovely – I cut the leaves out and distressed the edges and attached them to either side of the picture. They added some lovely colour to the page and then I outlined the two pink flowers that came in the kit and added these as well and then finished the cluster off with a tag that I decorated with stickers from the kit and a wooden flamingo peg and another journaling spot.

To add some final touches I threaded the buttons in the kit and added them to the background, along with some sequins from my kit and then used the stamps that were being sold from the shop to create a border around the edge of the page.
